Over the past four weeks or so, interest in Brass Monki has risen considerably. I am now receiving enquiries from all around the world and hits on the blog have risen almost twenty fold over the past year. At the end of the day, there is only me here with a limited number of hours in the day available  as I still hold down a full-time job. Whilst the online shop has been a success, allowing people to order my work, the reality is that for the time involved in creating a pair of bespoke Brass Monki customized sneakers I would be better off financially doing a couple of hours over-time at my day-time job! Another issue and in fact one of greater concern to me, is the frustration to potential customers felt by the shop opening and closing on a temporary basis. Whilst I know that many of you are teenagers/young people, there is a shift in the following of Brass Monki. I now have a following of corporate dudes and also many personalities in show business and T.V. For commercial reasons, I have therefore made the decision to permanently close the online store and will only offer my work in the future on a commission basis. Whilst I understand that this decision will cause much disappointment it is nonetheless what I feel I must do. In order to test the market in anticipation of the ‘new era’, I will be holding an auction(s) this Thursday/Friday, so please feel free to bid if you would like to bag yourself a pair of Brass Monki customized sneakers.
